Course Overview
The PADI Open Water Diver course in Melbourne comprises three key phases:
- Knowledge Development: Complete online, via home study, or in-classroom sessions to grasp the fundamental principles of scuba diving.
- Confined Water Dives: Acquire essential scuba skills in a controlled environment.
- Open Water Dives: Demonstrate your skills and explore local dive sites.
To Meet Our Requirement for the Open Water Diver Course:
- Student Must have suitable Mask, “must be treated for antifog”, Snorkel, Diving Boots, and Diving Finns, and must fit in our training size wetsuits, you can purchase all this prior starting date of course!
- Be 12 years of age or older (PADI eLearning requires parental supervision per international internet laws)

Course Highlights
The most rewarding aspect of this course is learning to SCUBA dive and obtaining your Open Water certification. Breathing underwater for the first time is an unforgettable experience, and throughout the program you will acquire the knowledge required to become a certified diver. The curriculum includes pool dives and four ocean dives at local sites, all supervised by a qualified PADI Instructor.
Scuba Gear and Learning Materials
During the course, you will use basic scuba gear—including a dive computer and standard accessories—selected by a Dive and Dive Representative for optimal comfort.
PADI offers supplementary home-study materials, available for purchase at Dive and Dive, including books and new e-learning options online.
PADI’s Open Water Diver materials cover essential scuba skills, terminology, and safety procedures. Each concept features both written explanations and video demonstrations, followed by practical application in the pool under instructor guidance.
